Flying Mascot spreads her wings for Flying Start Syndications.

22 Oct 2021

Congratulations to Flying Start Syndications and connections for their mare Flying Mascot’s dominant win in the Gr.3 Tesio Stakes (1600m) at The Valley on Cox Plate Day.

Flying Mascot was sitting pretty in the middle of the field for the majority of the race and when rider Blaike McDougall spotted a small gap open up at the 300m he didn’t hesitate. Blaike coaxed the mare straight through the small opening and guided her over to the better going in the middle of the track where she surged ahead to win by an impressive 4¼ lengths.

The lightly raced 4yo mare has had an ultra-impressive start to her career having stepped out a mere 9 times for 4 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third. She has already amassed $224,475 in prize money and looks to build on that considerably as she heads out in Saturday's $1m G1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington. Should she take out the win, she'll collect an additional $1 million bonus for her ownership group.

We wish the team at Flying Start Syndications the best of luck for Saturday.
